CURING & DRYING CONDITIONS
Important Information for a Successful Installation
Proper curing and drying conditions are essential for your self-leveling underlayment to perform as intended. The guidelines below help ensure strength, durability and a quality surface for your finished flooring.
HUMIDITY
Maintain relative humidity between 30% and 70%. Excessive humidity can extend drying times. Use dehumidification if needed.
TEMPERATURE
Maintain a consistent temperature between 50°F and 90°F (10°C – 32°C) before, during and after installation. Avoid rapid temperature changes. Keep HVAC systems operational.
VENTILATION
Provide adequate, consistent airflow. Normal building ventilation is preferred. Avoid direct high-speed fans, heaters or dehumidifiers blowing directly on the surface.
PROTECT THE POUR
Keep the area closed to foot traffic until the material reaches the recommended walk-on time. Avoid moving equipment, materials or ladders across the surface.
DRYING TIMES
Drying and time to floor covering vary by product, pour depth, temperature and humidity. Refer to the specific manufacturer’s technical data sheet for exact times.
BEFORE FLOOR COVERINGS
Ensure the underlayment is sufficiently dry and meets the moisture requirements of the finished flooring manufacturer. Perform any required moisture testing.
IMPORTANT NOTES
• Always follow the manufacturer’s technical data sheet for the specific product used.
• Do not cover the surface or install final flooring until it has reached the required dryness.
• Maintain stable jobsite conditions throughout the curing process.
